Want to make your Squarespace website look more professional in under 5 minutes? Just add a custom favicon.
What is a Favicon?
A favicon is that little symbol you see on your website browser tab, to the left of your site's name. It is very simple to add to your website, yet something many people fail to do.
Adding a favicon to your Squarespace website will show readers you're serious about your website. Your site looks more thought out and less amateurish.

Create Your Favicon Image
If you have a super simple logo, all you may have to do is create a smaller copy.
Do keep in mind, when favicons display, they are incredibly small -- they appear as 16 x 16 pixels.
So if you have a complex logo or text based logo, you may have to get a bit more creative when designing your browser icon. For my favicon, I used the first letter of each word in my business, arranges in a similar format to the larger logo.
Aim for a square graphic, created to be between 100 x 100 pixels to 300 x 300 pixels.
After you have created your image (PicMonkey would be an easy place to do this), save it as a .png file.
Upload Your Faviocn to Squarespace
To add your favicon to Squarespace:
Home Menu > Design > Logo & Title
Scroll down to the Browser Icon (Favicon) section and click on the upload image area. Select your new icon file and save.
Done! Wasn't that easy? You're website tab is looking good!
Note: If your favicon doesn't show up right away, you may have to clear your browser's cache.
